CrossWorlds

?CrossWorlds? is the central theme of this 2nd edition of the BANG Awards. As with the previous edition, we are celebrating History, linked with technology, awakening cultural awareness and visions against a background of diversity, adapted to the world of Film Animation.

The BANG Awards still has its sights set firmly on the future. Our intention is to rediscover connections and interconnections which led to innovation and progress and which are still useful to us today. This is a heritage which allows us to evolve in a globalized world where the barriers of language, customs and frontiers are constantly being eroded.

From the most primitive civilisations until today, peoples, communities and nations have crossed paths in many different ways. These encounters have engendered distinctive linguistic, cultural, social, religious, economic and political characteristics. It is this combination of historical events and episodes which has motivated us since antiquity, spurring us on to undertake maritime exploration, conceive fantastic new inventions and perform the greatest of human deeds. Alas, it has also driven us towards the revolutions, wars and catastrophes that punctuate our history.

There are a myriad of interpretations possible for this theme and none have been ruled out. However, entries should be clearly based on the theme of ?CrossWorlds? and reflect a body of information that sustains the interpretation.

We want projects that promote history and culture in a new way, which respects the identity of the people depicted and transmits the values of unity, respect and multiculturalism to future generations.

Taking the encouragement of friendship between peoples as a given, we are seeking to enrich cultural exchange through the medium of Film Animation, encouraging the production of films that pay homage to the incredible trajectory people have taken to get to this point.
